NISCU offers support in sharing the Good News in schools.  We fall into the Eden area of their network and the schools worker, Ruth is becoming quite well known to us.  She and her mum have involvement in Langwathby, Lazonby & Culgaith schools already.  She works in some of the Penrith 2nd-ary schools so has contacts with the teenage young people from our area.  On top of that Ruth has joined the EofE MC choir and she often makes it to the Friday morning prayer meeting at Neil& Judith Kennedy’s. (even though she lives outside our specific area)

Messy Church is a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration and hospitality.

It models and promotes good ways of growing as a family: a nuclear family, an extended family, and a global and local church family

Messy Church meets at Langwathby Village Hall on the second Saturday of each month (except August) from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

If you would like to know more, please telephone Peter Bowes on 01768 881222.

Family Funtime at Kirkoswald in 2019

Category : Uncategorised

Last year we held weekly Family Funtime sessions at the cricket ground in Kirkoswald during the summer holidays and at Kirkoswald chapel in the October half term holiday. These events were well received and brought the community together and we all had a great time.

Following on from this success, we have decided to offer the Family Funtime sessions on Thursday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm during school holidays on the following dates:

21st February 2019 (Kirkoswald chapel)

4th April 2019 (Kirkoswald chapel)

11th April 2019 (Kirkoswald chapel)

30th May 2019

25th July 2019

1st August 2019

8th August 2019

15th August 2019

22nd August 2019

29th August 2019

24th October 2019

There will be craft activities available along with a special activity, e.g music, boot camp, etc.

On 21st February, the special activity will be making no bake cakes and icing biscuits.

These sessions are open to everyone in the Mission Community area although all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

There is no charge for activities or refreshments this year so that everyone is able to come but we are asking this year for sponsors to cover costs. Sessions cost around £50 for activity fees, materials and refreshments. If you feel able to sponsor a session, could you please contact Judith Moore (Tel 01768 870188).

We will also need lots of helpers to cover all 11 sessions, so if you feel able to help in any way, please contact Judith Moore (01768 870188), Judith Kennedy (01768 898431) or Helen Armstrong (01768 898453). Helpers are needed for setting up/clearing away the venue, craft work, special activities, pre school play, refreshments. If you can help with one session, that would be great! We want to share the jobs and share the fun.

We do hope you can join us for Family Funtime 2019. We look forward to seeing you there!
