Lazonby St NicholasLazonby St Nicholas Contact: Rev Katharine Butterfield
Built in 1863 to a design by Antony Salvin on a mediaeval site but lacks any historical perspective. The present church is on the site of an earlier church that was completely demolished. The church comprised nave and chancel, north aisle, vestry, porch and bell tower. Built of red sandstone in the Gothic Revival style with random and diminishing slate roofs over exposed collar tie trusses. The church is predictably Victorian in character.
