A little bit about us ……

Bryan Gray (Chairman). Bryan has been a Reader/Lay Minister for 35 years. He lives at Hunsonby in the Cross Fell Benefice and is also a Lay Preacher in the Methodist Circuit. He is a Lay Canon and member of the Chapter of Carlisle Cathedral. He is Chairman of Westmorland Ltd, the family business which runs Tebay Motorway Services and Rheged, and has a lifelong interest in railways.

Kathleen Doidge-Harrison is PCC Treasurer of St Peter’s Church, Langwathby. She spent five years as a member of the ecumenical residential community at Rydal Hall, the Carlisle Diocesan Retreat Centre. Kathleen is a member of the team that plans and runs Messy Church in Langwathby village hall each month.

Ray Wager (Treasurer) is a retired local government solicitor. He is Treasurer for Kirkoswald & Alston Moor Methodist Circuit and a member of Langwathby Methodist Church. He is a member of the Cumbria-Argentina Methodist Partnership and is a member of the Cumbria Methodist District Synod. He enjoys choral singing, gardening and art.

Jim Butterworth lives at Park Head and is a Churchwarden at All Saints Church in Renwick, where he has worshipped for 10 years. Before retirement from the chemical industry, he and his wife Cindy lived, worked and worshipped in different areas of the UK and abroad. He has been a Fellrunner Bus driver for several years, enjoys choral singing, fellwalking, gardening and building maintenance.

Helen Armstrong is a retired headteacher and School Improvement Partner who worships at Kirkoswald Methodist Chapel. She is a Circuit Steward and member of the leadership team for the Kirkoswald and Alston Moor Methodist Circuit. She lives at Blunderfield farm with her husband Brian and enjoys playing the piano, singing, travel, gardening and being involved with their three grandchildren.
